Tegra, a new regional apparel supplier working with companies like Nike to build a responsive vertical supply chain in the Western hemisphere, has been on a recruitment drive as it expands and develops its manufacturing platforms.

In two separate announcements over the past week, the company has named five new hires to lead product development, customer strategy, Central American manufacturing, innovation and automation and US operations.

Joining its team are:

She recently served as VP of product development and innovation for Mast Industries/Victoria's Secret. Prior to that, she held senior level product & development positions at Gap Inc.

Ed Groce has been promoted to chief customer officer, leading Tegra's customer strategy, account management and overall execution to build integrated capabilities and value added customer programmes. Groce most recently led Tegra's Central American operations with oversight of five facilities and more than 10,000 employees in Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador. Prior to joining Tegra, Groce served as VP and COO of Art FX in Norfolk, Virginia, and president of Decotex International (both of which are Tegra subsidiaries).

Jim Sinor, president of Central American Manufacturing, who will oversee Tegra's facilities in Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador. He has more than 30 years of manufacturing leadership experience with positions at Jockey International, Carhartt, and VF Corporation, where he recently had oversight of manufacturing facilities in Mexico and Central America.

Nick Chope, vice president of Innovation and Automation, will work closely with Tegra's leadership team and customers to build enhanced and breakthrough innovation and automation that can be utilised throughout the manufacturing platform. Chope joins Tegra from Microsoft, where he served as senior process development engineer in addition to previously holding an engineering and automation position at Apple.

Ken Ellis, vice president of US operations, will oversee Tegra's US embellishment facilities to support the expansion of the platform and capabilities. Prior to joining Tegra, he held positions with leading organisations including VF Outdoor, and Harley- Davidson Motor Company.

Groce and DeNichilo will work closely to ensure effective execution and will report directly to Steve Cochran, Tegra CEO. While Sinor, Chope and Ellis are tasked with ensuring continued company growth and manufacturing excellence.

"One of Tegra's competitive advantages is the diversity of the products and programmes that we offer our customers allowing us to build strategic relationships," Cochran says.

"Pamela and Ed's senior leadership experience and reputations for excellence will be invaluable to us as we continue to strengthen our capabilities for our valued apparel and retail customers."

He adds: "Jim, Nick and Ken have the skill sets to forward Tegra's quest to be the most efficient, innovative and agile manufacturer in the Western hemisphere."

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Tegra is focused on the sports, team, licensed and activewear markets, serving leading brands and retailers via combined operations in the Western hemisphere.

Its capabilities include product development and design, cutting and sewing, embellishment, distribution and logistics, and programme management via five locations in Central America (Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua) combined with five quick response locations strategically located throughout the US.

The company has been working with Nike to create a vertically integrated and more responsive onshore and nearshore network to service North America apparel with closer-to-market manufacturing and embellishment.
