Production Manager (Sub-process)

Sub process Manager is responsible for supervision and administration of Cutting, Laser, Heat transfer, Embroidery, Assembly and Sublimation team to ensure high quality and production volume levels needed to hit customers’ expected delivery dates. Troubleshooting any issues that may arise and solving any issues that do occur during the process.  Working closely with product development, quality control and all production areas to ensure customer delivery dates. 

Job Duties:

  • Oversees cutting and embellishment supervisors and their respective teams.
  • Develops a work environment that positively motivates the operators.
  • Provide operational support to Leads and Operators during the manufacturing process.
  • Coach and mentor Leads and Operators, create positive work environment.
  • Manage workflow on the production floor.
  • Review and follow up the WIP work plan for export dates.
  • Develops and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve cutting room operations, minimize operating costs, and looks for improved labor and material utilization.
  • Provide strategic planning solutions to increase productivity for processes.
  • Manage all machine maintenance, issue workorders for any machine issues immediately.
  • Responsible for keeping the production floor clean and organized in accordance with company and customers policies and requirements.
  • Partner with quality control to create SOPs for the area, continue to look for opportunities of improvement.
  • Create daily recap of pieces completed for each production process.
  • Confers with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities of individual departments; reads and analyzes work orders, bill of materials, and specification sheets to know what fabrics and colors are specified for each style for each program.
  • Share KPI metrics with Leads and Operators to fully understand expectations and goals.
  • Employee administration (absences, PTO, resolve any issues or questions)
  • Attend daily and weekly Team meetings to provide updates on machines and operators.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years production facility management experience. Preferably in the apparel or sporting goods industry.
  • Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to work per prescribed production methodologies and processes.
  • Previous Leadership experience.
  • Previous experience managing a team.
  • Excellent organizational and engaging interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable to change.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem solving experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and writing
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Computer skills (advanced Excel with pivot tables, PPT, etc)
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish a plus

Education / Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in operations management or business.
